Why should I use a licensed contractor?
Simply put, licensing protects you, the consumer. A licensed contractor must pass state requirements as well as exams, in order to obtain a professional trade license. This is a means to ensure both competency and ethical work.
Before hiring any contractor, be sure to verify that his/her license is in good standing and active.
How can I save money on my electric bill?
Most of the electricity in your home is used by the heating and air system. The Department Of Energy states that whole house fans are the most efficient way to cool your home. By installing a Quiet Cool House whole-house fan, 50-90% off your air conditioning usage.
Copperhead Electric is an official Quiet Cool Whole House Fan Dealer.
Why does my circuit breaker keep tripping?
There could be too many things plugged into that circuit, which could cause it to overload. Another possibility is that there is a short in the wiring. A licensed electrician should evaluate this issue.
What is a GFI?
GFI stands for Ground Fault Interrupter. The outlet monitors electrical current. If there is an imbalance in the circuit, it will automatically shut off, to protect from shock. GFIs should be installed anywhere near a water source. (I.e. bathroom sinks)
Why do my lights flicker?
Sometimes loose wiring may cause an interruption in the flow of electricity, or there may be loose connections in the main electrical panel. Either way, this should immediately be checked by a licensed electrician.
Why does my outlet have blackened or burned marks?
If too much heat builds up in the outlet, it can melt the insulation on the wires. The wires then become exposed, which then may cause the electricity to jump from wire to wire, ultimately causing an electrical fire. Do not delay, immediately, have a licensed electrician evaluate this issue.
— Terrie-LynnLarry & his assistant were awesome. They completely explained the wiring issues, answered my questions & got the job done quick. They charge a reasonable fee for their time & are fast, efficient & clean up after themselves. I will call on them again for my next project for sure. Highly recommended.
— Terry SteikHave had the opportunity of using Larry both on rental properties & our home. He's always prompt & keeps in communication! Doesn't jump for the most expensive fix, but tries other solutions, while giving you the choice. Very pleasant to deal with!

Lindsay B. asked:
I need a referral for a great, competent and reasonable electrician to help at the Edge. Who do you know, friends?
Bill J. replied:
Lindsay call Larry at Copperhead Electric, great honest guy. 864.689.1185, licensed, tell him I sent you!
— David PooleLarry Herman and his crew at Copperhead Electric will make you a lifelong customer if you give them a try just once. I know they did us. Copperhead Electric was our chosen contractor for our recent manufacturing plant and corporate headquarters relocation to Murrieta, CA, and they performed the large, complicated project on time and for the fair price that was quoted (they didn’t try to hit us for "extras") This project required permits and Copperhead's work passed the city's stringent permitting process the first time. Also, there was a strict deadline as we needed to get our equipment online as soon as possible, and Copperhead beat that target date as well. We are very happy with Copperhead Electric and I am proud to recommend their work.
